Continual Education and Training
Sandymount Pet Hospital is continually undertaking education and training to ensure our skills are improving and our knowledge is up-to-date.
Our practice was established in 1998 by Richard Lavelle; a long-standing and extremely popular member of the local community. Having already practised as a companion animal vet in the area for a number of years, Richard decided that he wanted to give something back to local pet owners, and Sandymount Pet Hospital was born.
Today, our practice is run by Richard and his business partner John, who first joined Sandymount as an assistant in 2005. Together they are supported by a team of friendly, professional vets and nurses who each take a strong interest in various areas of veterinary medicine, allowing us to provide an unrivalled service for a wide range of animals and ailments.
Since opening in 1998 our practice has gone from strength to strength. As a result of our ever-growing client base, we continually undertake further education and training, as well as reinvesting in our facilities, to ensure the care and services we offer our patients is up-to-date. John has attained a postgraduate qualification in Orthopaedics which means patients with bone and joint problems can now be treated in practice.
When you visit our practice you may be surprised at just how much space we have to offer – we even have a large yard which we can use to assess pets in the warmer months. Additionally, we have two large consultation rooms which enable us to offer pet owners appointments that suit their busy schedules, and also consultations at short notice if necessary.
